Daughter Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter to face judge in trial regarding Güllü's death

The first hearing of the case regarding the death of artist Gül Tut, known to the public as "Güllü," who lost her life after falling from the window of her home in the Çınarcık district of Yalova, will be held today.

In the hearing to be held at the Yalova 1st High Criminal Court, the detained defendant Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter will appear before a judge for the first time. An aggravated life sentence is being sought for Gülter for the crime of "premeditated murder of a lineal ascendant."

The 21-page indictment, prepared by the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office after an approximately 10-month investigation, has been accepted by the court. The indictment states that Gül Tut lost her life on September 26, 2025, at approximately 01:26, after falling from a height of approximately 18.17 meters.

EVIDENCE IN THE INDICTMENT

The prosecution evaluated the manner in which the incident occurred, camera and audio recordings, expert reports, witness statements, WhatsApp correspondence, HTS records, and other digital materials together. The evidence, witness statements, and the defendant's defense included in the indictment are expected to be addressed at the hearing.

According to Forensic Medicine Institute reports, 3.53 per mille alcohol was detected in Gül Tut's blood. The report noted that some drug active ingredients were found at therapeutic doses, but were not the cause of death. The death was assessed to have occurred as a result of general body trauma due to a fall from a height, skull fractures, brain hemorrhage, numerous bone fractures, and injuries to internal organs and major blood vessels.

The indictment also included camera and audio recordings from the night of the incident. Expert examination indicated that after Gül Tut left the bathroom, she spoke with the people in the room, a Romani-style song called "Malkata" was playing, and the music continued until the moment of the fall. It was reported that no deletions or manipulations were detected in the recordings.

In the file, three separate impact or striking sounds, which were stated to be reflected in the recordings just before the incident, were also evaluated. The prosecution also included in the indictment an expert assessment that Gülter was within contact and awareness distance of Gül Tut during the incident.

The statements of Sultan Nur Ulu, who was in the house during the incident, were also among the important headings in the file. The indictment stated that Ulu initially described that Gül Tut fell from the window, but later said she saw Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter approach Gül Tut from behind and grab her by the hip and leg area. It was stated that a separate case has been opened against Ulu for the crime of "perjury."

Witness statements included allegations that Gülter had problems with her mother before the incident. Some witnesses claimed that Gülter said her mother did not allow her to get married and that she said, "One day I will throw my mother out the window and kill her." It was noted that these accounts would be evaluated by the court during the trial process.

The indictment also stated that in WhatsApp correspondence with her former boyfriend, Gülter used harsh expressions regarding her mother and that some internet searches were found on her digital materials. Defendant Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter is expected to present her defense regarding the accusations to the court at the hearing.
