Answering questions from Elif Doğan Şentürk on KRT, Ahmet Davutoğlu stated that if he were currently in office, he would go to Lebanon, and used the following expressions:

"If I were in office, I would board a plane today and land in Beirut. I would land in Beirut, look, I would land today. I would not just talk from here with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati; I would sit down with him and think about the next phase in Beirut. Hakan Fidan may be doing his best. I am not speaking about individuals. If I were in office today, I would land in Lebanon today."

HE SPOKE WITH LEBANESE PRIME MINISTER MIKATI

Ahmet Davutoğlu held a phone conversation with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati. It was stated that during the meeting between Davutoğlu and Mikati, the attacks that have further intensified following Israel's launch of a ground operation into Lebanon and the current situation in Lebanon were discussed, while Davutoğlu conveyed his condolences for the Lebanese citizens who lost their lives in the aforementioned attacks.

Davutoğlu expressed his belief that Lebanon would overcome this critical period with Najib Mikati's state experience and conveyed that he is ready to provide all kinds of support to Lebanon in this context, while during the meeting, Mikati pointed out that the Israeli attacks pose a major risk for Lebanon and the region.
