DBL Entertainment owner Abdülkadir Özkan had labeled boycotters 'traitors': A mandatory statement has come from Özkan

Abdülkadir Özkan made a post on his social media account with the note 'mandatory statement' following the increase in 'boycott' calls and the subsequent backlash.

It was revealed that Abdülkadir Özkan, the owner of DBL Entertainment, which organizes Istanbul concerts for world-famous artists such as Robbie Williams and Muse, had made posts calling young people who boycotted Espressolab "traitors."

Özkan had closed his account following the backlash, but later reopened it.

Abdülkadir Özkan made a post on his social media account with the note 'mandatory statement' following the increase in 'boycott' calls and the subsequent backlash:

"I made a social media post yesterday to criticize a few malicious provocateurs who have pushed 'boycott' protests to an undesirable level that most of society would not approve of, as a result of recent developments in our country.

This post I made was distorted from its highly well-intentioned purpose and reflected through a perception operation as if I were criticizing the most basic constitutional right, which is the right to protest.

I am deeply saddened by this situation that has emerged and by being misunderstood.

I kindly request that the process be evaluated with this reality in mind, and I wish everyone a peaceful and healthy holiday with their families and loved ones."

THE FIRST 'CANCELLATION' NEWS HAD ARRIVED

A 'cancelled' warning had appeared on the ticket purchase page for the event where world-famous comedian Trevor Noah, also organized by the same company, was set to perform on April 23.
