Deadlock broken in 37th round: The new President of the Court of Cassation has finally been decided!
Ömer Kerkez has become the new president in the 37th round of the Court of Cassation presidential elections.
The deadlock in the Court of Cassation presidential elections has been broken.
In the 37th round of the elections, which had failed to produce a result in the first 36 rounds, Ömer Kerkez became the new president of the Court of Cassation.

While Ömer Kerkez received 193 votes, Mehmet Akarca remained at 103 votes.
Muhsin Şentürk had previously withdrawn his candidacy.
WHO IS ÖMER KERKEZ?
Born in Antakya in 1966, Ömer Kerkez began his education in Antakya and graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 1988.
Following his graduation, Kerkez completed his military service in Trabzon, began his career as a judge/prosecutor candidate in Hatay, and held significant positions in various provinces and districts. He successfully served as a public prosecutor in Elbistan, Kozluk, and Erzin. Elected as a member of the Court of Cassation in 2017, Kerkez currently serves as the President of the Third Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation. Ömer Kerkez is married and a father of three.
