While no candidate has been able to secure an absolute majority in the elections held since Monday, March 25, a new development occurred today.

MUHSİN ŞENTÜRK WITHDRAWS

Muhsin Şentürk, President of the 3rd Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation, who received 104 votes in the 35th round, announced that he has withdrawn from the candidacy.

In his statement, Şentürk used the expression, "I am withdrawing from the candidacy for the first presidency in order to resolve the deadlock that has occurred in the process and to protect the institutional reputation of our Court of Cassation."
