Death threat to the Minguzzi family days before the trial: 'We will make your life a living hell'

In Istanbul, Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, the son of Italian chef Andrea Minguzzi and cellist Yasemin Akıncılar, lost his life in a knife attack at a flea market he visited in Kadıköy on January 24.

Following the murder that shook Turkey, an indictment was prepared against two suspects, seeking prison sentences of 18 to 24 years each. The first hearing will be held on Thursday, April 10.

A chilling incident occurred just days before the hearing. Friends of the murder suspects began sending death threats to the grieving family.

"WE WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE A LIVING HELL"

Individuals who reached out to the family via social media sent messages such as, "You have 6 days left, we will make your life a living hell," "Berkay is not alone, we will soon do things that will make you wonder if these people are even human," and "A cold night, two people gone mad, and tons of revenge to be taken."

THEY FILED A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT

According to a report by Deniz Yusufoğlu from Sabah, the Minguzzi family's lawyer, Rezan Epözdemir, filed a criminal complaint with the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the messages sent to the family.

The petition requested that an indictment be prepared against the suspects for the crimes of "Threat," "Insult," and "Disturbing the peace and tranquility of individuals." The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation.
