Acting Gaza Health Minister Dr. Yusuf Eburriş conducted inspections at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza to assess the state of healthcare services.

Speaking at a press conference held after the inspection, Eburriş stated, "The number of martyrs has neared 1,200, and there are approximately 5,000 injured."

Eburriş noted that the vast majority of the deceased and injured are children, women, and the elderly.

In a previous statement from the Ministry of Health, it was noted that hospitals in Gaza were operating at full capacity due to the intensification of Israeli attacks.

Ministry of Health Spokesperson Eşref el-Kudra also stated in a press briefing that due to overcrowding, patients and the injured were being placed on the floor in hospitals and were being treated in that manner.

Kudra warned, "Israel continues to cut off electricity, water, and fuel; this situation creates a great danger, and a very painful environmental and health catastrophe could occur," noting that the responsibility for this lies with the Israeli occupation.

ISRAEL-PALESTINE CONFLICT

Hamas's armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack on Israel on the morning of October 7, dubbed "Al-Aqsa Flood." While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza toward Israel, Palestinian armed groups raided and seized the Beit Hanoun-Erez Border Crossing on the Gaza-Israel border.

The armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from there, and the Israeli army launched attacks on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets. It was reported that 1,200 Israelis lost their lives in the attacks launched from Gaza.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health had announced that 1,100 people had lost their lives and 5,339 people had been injured in Gaza during the Israeli attacks.

The ministry reported that the number of Palestinians killed in attacks in the occupied West Bank had reached 29, with approximately 150 injured.
