Death toll rises in horrific fire in Bursa
The death toll from a fire at a closed hotel in Bursa has risen to three. Following the deaths of former national skier Yahya Usta and his son, national athlete Berkin Usta, the mother, Fikriye Usta, who had been hospitalized in critical condition, has also lost her battle for life.
A fire that broke out in a closed and abandoned hotel in Bursa has claimed three lives. Former Turkish national skier Yahya Usta (57) and his son Berkin Usta (25) had lost their lives after being unable to escape the flames. The mother, Fikriye Usta, who was severely injured in the fire, passed away today following days of treatment.
COULD NOT BE SAVED
The fire broke out a few days ago in an abandoned hotel in Bursa. The fire, which started for reasons yet to be determined, grew rapidly and engulfed the entire building. Former national skier Yahya Usta and his son Berkin Usta, who were in the building at the time, lost their lives after being exposed to heavy smoke. Fire crews, who arrived at the scene quickly, rescued mother Fikriye Usta in critical condition and transferred her to the hospital.
However, Fikriye Usta, who had been fighting for her life in intensive care for days, passed away today despite all the efforts of the doctors.
