Decision on the election of Mehmet Akarca as Chief Ombudsman published in the Official Gazette
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) decision regarding the election of Mehmet Akarca as Chief Ombudsman has been published in the Official Gazette.
According to the TBMM decision published in the Official Gazette, in accordance with Article 74 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey and Article 11 of the Law on the Ombudsman Institution No. 6328 dated 14.06.2012, Mehmet Akarca was elected as Chief Ombudsman following the election held during the 17th session of the General Assembly on 12.11.2024, from among the 3 candidates nominated by the Joint Commission consisting of members of the Petition Commission and the Human Rights Investigation Commission.
