Umut-Sen Organization Specialist Başaran Aksu, who was detained while attempting to march to Taksim after gathering with Umut-Sen members on May 1st, Labor and Solidarity Day, has been released following the completion of legal procedures.

Making a statement on his social media account after his release, Aksu used the following expressions:

'We have been released from detention. Those who fought for Taksim May Day all day yesterday have won.

Nearly 600 detentions, thousands gathered in Mecidiyeköy square, and the content of the workers' speeches are quite valuable..

The 2027 Taksim May Day now belongs to all the people. Greetings to our Turkish Working Class!'


HE HAD BEEN DETAINED BEFORE

It is known that Başaran Aksu was also previously detained during the protests of Doruk Mining workers, who marched from Eskişehir to Ankara under the leadership of the Independent Mining Union (Bağımsız Maden-İş) and began a hunger strike for their rights.

CALL FOR TAKSIM BEFORE DETENTION
