The individual who set fire to a white Toros in front of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) before the fourth meeting of the reconciliation commission has been arrested.
Before the fourth meeting of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, which was established in the TBMM as part of the new reconciliation process called "Terror-Free Turkey," a white Toros was set on fire in front of the Parliament building yesterday.
The Ministry of Interior announced that M.E.F., who set the vehicle on fire, carried out the act in anticipation of a Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) reduction.
It was reported that the suspect, who resides in Mersin, has psychological health issues and a long criminal record.
It has been learned that the 57-year-old suspect has been arrested as part of an investigation launched for the crime of 'Intentionally Endangering General Safety.'
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that the investigation is ongoing.
