Decision reached regarding the lieutenants at the Tuzla Infantry School!

At the Tuzla Infantry School, a lieutenant tore the photograph of Atatürk that he was required to wear on his lapel during the November 10 Atatürk Commemoration Ceremony.

When other lieutenants reacted to this disrespect shown toward Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and intervened, a fight broke out between the two groups. As part of the investigation launched, seven lieutenants were referred to disciplinary action with a request for their dismissal.

Four of the lieutenants were among those who reacted to the lieutenant who did not wear the Atatürk photograph, while one was the lieutenant who did not wear the photograph, and two were those who supported him.

While the brawl was being reviewed by the Land Forces Command High Disciplinary Board, the lieutenant who did not wear the Atatürk photograph and the two lieutenants who supported him did not attend to present their defense.

ALL 7 LIEUTENANTS DISMISSED

According to information obtained by 10Haber from military sources, all seven of the lieutenants referred to disciplinary action have been dismissed. Meanwhile, the Land Forces Command High Disciplinary Board has expanded the administrative investigation it is conducting at the Tuzla Infantry School. The High Disciplinary Board's decision to expand the investigation was based on WhatsApp correspondence. If the Ministry of National Defense approves the High Disciplinary Board's decision, the dismissal of the seven lieutenants will be finalized and the investigation will be expanded.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

A fight had broken out during the November 10 ceremony between the lieutenant who did not wear an Atatürk photograph on his lapel and the lieutenant who reacted to it.

The dispute between the lieutenants continued in the following days. On November 13, some lieutenants hung an Atatürk poster on the door of dormitory number 405, where the lieutenants who did not wear Atatürk photographs were staying. A scuffle occurred between the lieutenants who reacted to the Atatürk poster and the lieutenants who hung it. After the scuffle, Infantry Lieutenant A.A., who did not wear an Atatürk poster on his lapel on November 10, went to Tuzla State Hospital to obtain a medical report for assault. When he was told that no signs of assault were found at the hospital, he went to the Tuzla Police Station to file a complaint.

Following these developments, the Land Forces Command launched an administrative investigation. With the report prepared by the Disciplinary Investigation Committee on December 5, the dismissal of the four lieutenants who reacted to those who did not wear Atatürk photographs was requested. The Disciplinary Investigation Committee also requested the dismissal of the three lieutenants staying in dormitory number 405.

The colonel who was the regimental commander responsible for the lieutenants and a first lieutenant who was the company commander were also suspended from duty after the incident.
