DEM Party issues alliance statement following Erdoğan’s ‘historic’ speech!

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered what has been described as a ‘historic’ speech today at his party’s consultation and evaluation meeting in Kızılcahamam.

Speaking on the new opening process, which MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli is the architect of and which has been dubbed a ‘Terror-Free Turkey,’ Erdoğan said, “With the AK Party, MHP, and the DEM Delegation, we will, God willing, nurture this process and carry it into the future. The AK Party, MHP, and DEM Party—we have at least decided to walk this path together as a trio.”

In the 2023 general and presidential elections, Erdoğan had accused the CHP and the Table of Six of standing side-by-side with the HDP and the terrorist organization PKK. This statement made by Erdoğan today has been interpreted as an ‘alliance with the DEM Party.’

ALLIANCE STATEMENT FROM DEM

The first statement regarding the matter has come from the DEM Party front. Pervin Buldan, a member of the DEM Party Imralı Delegation, who has been conducting talks with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan during the new opening process, stated, “Let this not be taken in the wrong direction. This alliance is a process alliance. It should absolutely not be perceived as any other type of alliance. Everyone’s line and the path they are on are clear. Of course, as the DEM Party, we are at the very center of this process. But it is the People’s Alliance that needs to resolve it.”
