DEM Party meets with Selahattin Demirtaş
DEM Party co-chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan met with Selahattin Demirtaş at Edirne F-Type Prison to discuss recent political developments. It was stated that a statement would be made in front of the prison following the visit.
DEM Party Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan visited Selahattin Demirtaş, who is being held at Edirne F-Type Prison.
It was stated that the visit was conducted to exchange views on new political processes.
According to DEM Party sources, Hatimoğulları and Bakırhan will hold a press conference in front of the prison at 12:00 following the visit. It was also reported that the delegation will visit Figen Yüksekdağ, who is being held at Kandıra Prison, at 14:30.
On October 7, Turkey had applied to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) for a re-evaluation of the case of Selahattin Demirtaş, who was sentenced to 42 years in prison as part of the "Kobani case." Following this application made through his lawyers, the ECHR ruled that Demirtaş's rights had been violated.
