DEM Party to visit Selahattin Demirtaş! When is the second meeting with Öcalan?
A DEM Party delegation will visit former HDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who is imprisoned in Edirne Prison, today. Tomorrow, a meeting will be held with former HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ at the Kocaeli Kandıra Prison.
Following the call by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, the DEM Party, which went to İmralı to meet with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan, has completed its visits to political parties in the Turkish Grand National Assembly and Ankara.
The delegation, which includes Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Pervin Buldan, and former Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Türk—who was replaced by a government-appointed trustee—will visit former HDP co-chairs Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ over the weekend.
DEM PARTY DELEGATION HEADS TO DEMİRTAŞ
According to NTV, the delegation will meet today with Selahattin Demirtaş, who is being held in Edirne Prison.
The visit is scheduled to take place at 13:00.
Demirtaş, who has been in prison since 2016, was sentenced to 42 years in prison in the case regarding the street protests that occurred on October 6-8, 2014.
MEETING WITH FİGEN YÜKSEKDAĞ ON SUNDAY
The DEM Party delegation will meet with Figen Yüksekdağ, who is being held in Kocaeli Kandıra Prison, on Sunday.
This visit is also scheduled to take place at 13:00.
WILL THERE BE A STATEMENT AFTER THE MEETINGS?
The DEM Party's İmralı delegation is expected to make a comprehensive statement regarding the process following its tour of political parties and these visits.
The DEM Party stated that there will not be a statement over the weekend, and that a comprehensive statement will be made later.
DELEGATION TO VISIT İMRALI ONCE MORE
The DEM Party delegation is also expected to make a second visit to İmralı in the near future.
The delegation is expected to convey the main axes of the process to Öcalan as well.
