Demirören lays off 10 more journalists: Supplements shut down

Demirören Media Group continues to downsize within the framework of cost-cutting measures. Following the decision to close the Milliyet Ege supplement and subsequently the İzmir editions of Hürriyet and Posta, a similar process has taken place in Ankara.

According to a report by Kısa Dalga, the Ankara supplements of Hürriyet, Milliyet, and Posta have been shut down, and the company has parted ways with 10 people working on these supplements. The downsizing operation at Demirören Media Group is expected to continue in the coming period.

Yesterday, it was revealed that a decision had been made to close the İzmir supplements of the Hürriyet and Posta newspapers, following the same move for Milliyet. It was announced that these supplements would no longer be published as of September 1, and 5 people each from the İzmir staff of Hürriyet and Posta had been laid off.

The building housing the Hürriyet and Posta newspapers on Şehitler Street had also been vacated in a previous process and moved to offices in Bayraklı. Hürriyet Ege, which began its publication life in 1984, had been in operation for 40 years.
