DEM's Imralı meeting, awaiting petition result, may be postponed: Statement from Ahmet Türk
Although the DEM Party stated after their group meeting that they would submit a petition to the Ministry of Justice to conduct a visit to Imralı, they have not yet received a response to their request despite a long period having passed. Finally, an interesting statement came from the former Mayor of Mardin, Türk.
A statement has come from Ahmet Türk of the DEM Party regarding the meeting to be held between DEM and Imralı.
Millet News Agency Editor-in-Chief Sinan Burhan reported that Ahmet Türk said the meeting could be postponed due to the war in Syria.
Burhan stated on his social media account that he encountered Ahmet Türk, the former Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor who was replaced by a government-appointed trustee, on a plane and that he made noteworthy remarks regarding the meeting to be held between DEM and Imralı.
'MEETING MAY BE POSTPONED'
Sinan Burhan included the following statements in his announcement:
“I had the opportunity to speak with former Mardin Mayor Ahmet Türk on the plane. I asked him about the Imralı-HDP meeting. Türk said, 'There is an expectation for a meeting. This meeting would be beneficial. However, the meeting may be postponed due to the war in Syria.'"
