Denial of claims that 'Alican Uludağ was transferred to Ankara'

Journalist Alican Uludağ was detained following an investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on charges of "publicly insulting the President," "publicly disseminating misleading information," and "insulting judicial bodies" due to his posts on the X platform. Uludağ, who was apprehended at his home in Ankara, was transferred to Istanbul after his processing.

On February 20, the Istanbul 9th Criminal Court of Peace ordered Uludağ's arrest on charges of "publicly insulting the President." Following the arrest order, Uludağ was initially sent to Metris Prison. Shortly thereafter, on February 23, he was transferred to the high-security section of Silivri No. 9 Prison.

Yesterday, rumors emerged in the public sphere suggesting that Uludağ had been taken to Ankara. This claim had also been brought to the agenda by CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir.

However, a statement from officials indicated that Uludağ is still in Silivri and that there is no official instruction for his transfer to Ankara.
