Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Gülizar Biçer Karaca falls ill at the podium
Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Gülizar Biçer Karaca fell ill while presiding over the session regarding the omnibus bill containing regulations on austerity measures. The session was adjourned as the three other deputy speakers were out of the city.
Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and CHP Denizli MP Gülizar Biçer Karaca fell ill at the podium while presiding over the General Assembly session.
As the session was adjourned, Karaca, who suffered from low blood pressure, was taken to Güven Hospital. It was learned that Karaca, who was taken to a private hospital in Ankara after falling ill, is in good condition.
It was reported that Karaca, who underwent lung surgery on June 25, will spend the night at the hospital.
Following Karaca's illness, the parliamentary session was adjourned at 21:55 as all three other deputy speakers were out of the city. Celal Adan will preside over today's session of the TBMM General Assembly.
