Details of the horror in Bağcılar emerge

A person, initially unidentified, entered a home on 1487th Street in the 15 Temmuz neighborhood of Bağcılar district yesterday evening around 17:00 and attacked the children inside with a stone. During the incident, 12-year-old Meryem Samou lost her life. Her 5-year-old brother, Ahmad Samou, who was injured, was taken to Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital by medical teams. The young girl's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute. The suspect who killed the girl was apprehended by police teams today. The details of the incident have emerged.

Police teams launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. A detailed examination revealed that 12-year-old Meryem Samou had been struck with a paving stone and also had knife marks on her body.

SUSPECT'S STATEMENT EMERGES

Police teams examining security cameras in the area apprehended one suspect. The statement of the suspect, identified as Zekeriya A., who is known to be Syrian, has emerged.

In his statement, the suspect reportedly said that he was friends with the children's family, that there was an electrical problem in their home, and that he went to repair it because he is an electrician. He claimed that the children opened the door, that he asked for money after fixing the electrical fault, and that the child pulled a knife on him, leading him to strike her with a stone.
