The statement issued by the Ministry of Interior included the following: "Following the arrest of Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım by the Istanbul 5th Criminal Judgeship of Peace on 30.03.2026, with decision number 2026/200, as part of an investigation into the crimes of 'Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing Crimes, Rigging Tenders of Public Institutions or Organizations, Extortion by Coercion, and Bribery,' he has been suspended from office as a temporary measure by the Ministry of Interior in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipal Law No. 5393."
