Detained Şişli Mayor Şahan: 'İmamoğlu is not alone, the nation is behind him!'

In an operation launched this morning, in which 106 people were detained, a search was conducted at Ekrem İmamoğlu's home. At the same time, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan was also detained.

Mayor Şahan made a statement on his X (Twitter) account and noted the following:

"A search was conducted at my home this morning and I was detained. My lawyer was not even allowed to participate in the search. Everyone should rest assured. @ekrem_imamoglu is not alone; the nation is behind him, Istanbul is behind him, and we are behind him. If one of us falls, the other will step in. We entrust ourselves to our nation."

Regarding the matter, lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz made a post on his X account, stating that lawyers were not allowed to participate in the search conducted at the home of Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan.

Ersöz noted the following: "Our colleagues went to the home of Şişli Mayor Emrah Şahan to participate in the ongoing search. However, we are being prevented from participating in the search procedures. The lawyers are being kept waiting at the door of the house. A 'lawyer meeting restriction' is being cited as the reason for this. This arbitrary practice, which is contrary to the Criminal Procedure Code (CMK), must be ended, and Şişli Mayor Emrah Şahan must not be prevented from benefiting from the legal assistance of his lawyer."
