The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an ex officio investigation into Güven for the crime of 'inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting' due to the posts she made on her social media accounts.
Within the scope of the investigation, Meral Güven has been taken into custody.
It is alleged that the detained astrologer Meral Güven has a total of 6 prior convictions, including for threats, insults, assault, and drugs.
