Detention warrants have been issued for a number of lawyers as part of an operation targeting the İBB.

A detention warrant has been issued for Yiğit Gökçehan Koçoğlu, the lawyer of Mehmet Pehlivan, who is the attorney for CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate and İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Mehmet Pehlivan made a statement regarding the matter on social media.

In his statement on his X account, Pehlivan noted the following:

"I have learned that there is also a detention warrant for my lawyer, Yiğit Gökçehan Koçoğlu. 

He is currently in Adıyaman.

He is representing 35 families, victims who lost their children at the İsias Hotel in the February 6 earthquake. 

Yiğit was my lawyer yesterday. Today, he is the lawyer for the families who lost their children in the earthquake. Tomorrow, he will continue to be the lawyer for whoever seeks justice. 

When he learned of the detention warrant against him, he did not flee, he did not hide, he was not afraid. He went to the courthouse to represent the families who lost their children. 

Lawyers will continue to seek justice and the truth. The defense will not be silenced."
