Developments in Ahbap investigation: 'Access ban' issued, number of detainees rises to 50
A new development has occurred in the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Ahbap Association. It has been learned that an access ban has been imposed on the X account of artist Haluk Levent.
As the investigation into the Ahbap Association continues, an access ban decision has been issued regarding the X account of artist Haluk Levent.
While it is stated that the platform has not yet made the account invisible in Turkey, the number of detainees in the scope of the investigation has risen to 50, and 19 people, including Levent, have been arrested.
It was noted that the social media platform X has not yet made the account invisible in Turkey. The investigation file includes charges of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes," "qualified fraud," and "laundering assets derived from crime."
ACCESS BAN ON HALUK LEVENT'S X ACCOUNT
Following the decision, all eyes turned to the social media platform X. It was stated that the platform has not yet made the account invisible in Turkey.
THREE SEPARATE CHARGES IN THE INVESTIGATION
In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, serious allegations against the Ahbap Association are being examined.
It was stated that the file contains charges of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes," "qualified fraud," and "laundering assets derived from crime."
MASAK REPORTS AND ACCOUNT ACTIVITIES EXAMINED
Within the scope of the investigation, MASAK reports were prepared regarding Ahbap Association employees.
While the account activities of the suspects were being examined, technical and physical surveillance efforts were also carried out.
MONEY TRAFFIC AND TITLE DEED TRANSFERS UNDER SCRUTINY
According to findings in the file, it is alleged that some suspects made high-amount money movements inconsistent with their financial profiles.
High-amount money transfers between suspects, transfers to gambling accounts, high-amount betting losses, and numerous chain title deed transfers in a short period were also among the investigation topics.
17 PEOPLE INCLUDING HALUK LEVENT HAD BEEN DETAINED
Within the scope of the investigation, 17 people, including the association's founder Haluk Levent, were detained on July 12.
Subsequently, the operation was expanded and 24 more people were detained. Thus, the number of detainees rose to 41 in the first stage.
19 PEOPLE ARRESTED
19 of the detained individuals, including Haluk Levent, were arrested.
While 17 people were released under judicial control conditions, it was stated that the procedures for five suspects at the gendarmerie are ongoing.
ASSETS SEIZED
Within the scope of the investigation, the assets of the Ahbap Association and all suspects were seized on July 16.
This decision is considered to have been taken in line with the money movements and asset examinations in the file.
WHETHER X WILL IMPLEMENT THE DECISION IS A MATTER OF CURIOSITY
Following the access ban decision issued for Haluk Levent's X account, it is being monitored when the platform will take action.
The process regarding whether X will make the account invisible in Turkey has not yet been clarified.
