Did Epstein use his private jet at Incirlik? Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler explains
Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler has announced that they have not received any reports or legal notifications to date regarding claims that the private jet of Jeffrey Epstein, the U.S. billionaire accused of establishing a child sex trafficking network, used Incirlik Air Base.
The allegation that businessman Jeffrey Epstein, who died in prison while awaiting trial on charges of establishing a child sex trafficking network in the U.S., used the Incirlik Air Base in Turkey has occupied the political agenda. IYI Party Tekirdağ MP Selcan Taşcı brought the issue to the fore in a written parliamentary question submitted to the Ministry of National Defense.
Taşcı questioned whether Epstein's private jet had used Incirlik Base for landing, takeoff, or transit purposes, and whether there were special inspections at military bases against human trafficking or the illegal transport of children.
MINISTER YAŞAR GÜLER CLARIFIES THE ALLEGATIONS
In his response to the parliamentary question, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler reminded that military air bases have the status of first-degree military forbidden zones and that biometric verification and identity checks are applied during entry and exit.
Güler stated, "The 10th Tanker Base Command (Incirlik Air Base) is a Turkish Air Force facility belonging to the Republic of Turkey. Individuals and materials arriving from abroad into the base or departing from the base to abroad are strictly controlled by the Customs Directorate affiliated with the Ministry of Trade and the relevant units of the General Directorate of Security in accordance with legislative provisions," he noted.
The written statement emphasized that the claims regarding the landing of Epstein's plane at the base have no basis in official records, with the sentence: "There is no report, complaint, or official notification within the scope of the allegations mentioned in the written parliamentary question."
EMPHASIS ON STRICT INSPECTIONS AND LEGISLATION
Another detail highlighted in the Ministry's response was the inspection standards at the bases. It was stated that both material and personal transits take place only through authorized personnel and permitted vehicles, accompanied by strict security protocols. Thus, it was conveyed that similar allegations are monitored through regular inspections.
While the claims of Jeffrey Epstein's connection to Turkey have so far remained only at the level of political debate, there is no evidence or notification from official authorities.
