In a written statement issued by the Artvin Governor's Office, it was stated, "Regarding the issue that appeared in the media today, an investigation has been launched into Yusufeli District Governor Hacı Kerim Meral, with an inspector appointed by our Ministry of Interior. Respectfully announced to the public."
WHAT HAPPENED?
District Governor Hacı Kerim Meral, who serves in Yusufeli, one of the districts of Artvin famous for its doner kebab and the recently constructed dam, did not like the doner kebab at the restaurant where he ate.
After eating the doner kebab with his guests, followed by dessert and tea, District Governor Meral headed to the register and, in front of other customers, loudly told the business owner, Ferhat Kodat, that he did not like the doner, the rice, or the rice pudding, and left the establishment without paying the bill.
