Died while trying to help at an accident

Görkem Öztürk, who went to the scene to help a driver who had been in an accident on the Kocaeli section of the Northern Marmara Motorway, was struck by another car. The moment of the accident, in which 24-year-old Öztürk tragically lost his life, was captured moment by moment on security cameras.

The accident occurred on September 30 in the Sevindikli area of the Northern Marmara Motorway. According to the information received, a car hit the barriers due to rain after the driver lost control of the steering wheel. While there were no injuries in the initial incident, 24-year-old gas station employee Görkem Öztürk rushed to help, thinking there might be injured people in the vehicle. As Öztürk reached the crashed vehicle, he was struck by a car with license plate 34 EVY 177, driven by M.A.Ö., who had seen the accident but could not stop due to the rain, and was thrown meters into the air. Due to the impact, the car flipped over multiple times.

While Öztürk tragically lost his life in the accident, the driver of the car that flipped over survived with minor injuries.
