Dilek İmamoğlu changes her profile picture on X: 'This unfair and arbitrary practice...'
Dilek İmamoğlu issued a statement regarding the access ban imposed on the X account of her husband, Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently detained in Silivri Prison, stating, "This unfair and arbitrary practice must be reversed immediately."
An access ban has been imposed on the X account of Ekrem İmamoğlu, the CHP's presidential candidate and Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), who is currently detained in Silivri Prison.
İmamoğlu, who has been in prison since March 23, had been sharing his views and assessments on current events through his X account.
While the censorship decision against İmamoğlu drew widespread reaction, his wife, Dilek İmamoğlu, also made a statement on the matter.
"NEVER ACCEPTABLE"
Dilek İmamoğlu used the following expressions in her post on her X account:
"It is not just the presidential candidate of millions, Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being silenced; the will of the nation, the truth, and consciences are being silenced.
Blocking access to Ekrem İmamoğlu’s X account from Turkey is an interference with freedom of thought and expression and is never acceptable. This unfair and arbitrary practice must be reversed immediately.
Millions are here to ensure Ekrem İmamoğlu’s voice is heard, determined to fight for justice and freedom!"
