Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu: I will not be silent until a transparent and impartial trial is held
Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu stated that justice has been overshadowed by politics and issued a call to all political parties and legal institutions. She emphasized that she would not remain silent until a transparent and impartial trial is ensured, stressing that her struggle for justice is the collective voice of millions.
Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu, wife of the CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, issued a call to the Union of Turkish Bar Associations, DEM Party, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), IYI Party, DEVA Party, Future Party, Felicity Party, New Welfare Party, Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP), Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Labour Party (EMEP), Democratic Left Party (DSP), and the Democrat Party, saying, "Come, let us raise the voice of the law together.
Come, let us stand together against this darkness that sacrifices justice for political calculations. Come, let us take responsibility to leave a dignified future for the children of this country. Those who remain silent today may not find a country to speak in tomorrow."
Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu, wife of the CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, addressed the Union of Turkish Bar Associations and political parties in a statement. The following remarks were included in the post shared on Dilek İmamoğlu's X account:
"Unfortunately, we are in the midst of a period in Turkey where the breath of justice has been cut off. We are experiencing a process where even consciences no longer accept decisions made in the shadow of injustice, lawlessness, and politics. This process is not just ours; it is the common cry of all relatives of detainees whose spouses, children, or siblings have been unlawfully deprived of their freedom.
"WE WILL EITHER DEFEND IT OR WE WILL ALL LOSE TOGETHER"
I am making a clear and direct call here to all political party leaders, all legal organizations, all representatives of civil and professional society, and artists: This silence is no longer acceptable. This lawlessness can no longer be tolerated. We will either defend justice in this country together, or we will all lose together. The injustice experienced today is not being done to just one person or one family. Those who play with the scales of justice today are actually playing with the rights of 86 million people. And I will not be silent until the right to a fair trial is established in this country, until decisions are made in the light of the law rather than politics, and until an open, transparent, and impartial trial is held in front of everyone.
"MY VOICE DOES NOT BELONG ONLY TO ME"
I will repeat this right every day, everywhere, and on every platform. Because justice is not the property of one group; it is the conscience of the country. And keeping that conscience alive today is a duty for all of us. My call is clear: Come, let us raise the voice of the law together. Come, let us stand together against this darkness that sacrifices justice for political calculations. Come, let us take responsibility to leave a dignified future for the children of this country. Those who remain silent today may not find a country to speak in tomorrow. I am speaking. And I believe that my voice does not belong only to me; it is the voice of hundreds of thousands, of millions who are waiting for justice. And this voice will not be silent until the right to a non-custodial, fair, and transparent trial, conducted in front of the public via live broadcast, is secured."
