Abdülhamid Kayıhan Osmanoğlu, great-grandson of Sultan Abdul Hamid II whose diploma was cancelled due to 'forgery', posts on social media: 'Have some decency'

Abdülhamid Kayıhan Osmanoğlu, a 4th-generation grandson of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, reacted on his social media account to the preparation of an indictment against him and the cancellation of his diploma on charges of "forgery of official documents." Osmanoğlu stated, "I will speak when the time comes; when that day arrives, the voice of truth will silence the scream of slander."

It was determined that a graduation record was created for Abdülhamid Kayıhan Osmanoğlu using a fake electronic signature in the name of S.D., the Head of the Student Affairs Department at Inönü University.

In an official letter sent by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) to the prosecutor's office, it was stated that there was no graduation record for Osmanoğlu. An indictment was prepared against Osmanoğlu on charges of "forgery of official documents."

The indictment stated that state systems were accessed using fake e-signatures and that individuals who did not graduate received academic titles.

In a statement on his X account, Osmanoğlu said, "There are those trying to lynch me today. They are shouting, they are attacking... Because as I remain silent, lies speak. But let it not be forgotten that patience is also a test."

Saying "Have some decency," Osmanoğlu made the following statement:

"I have chosen to remain silent in the face of the allegations and smear campaigns targeting me in recent days. Because I know that sometimes the truth only speaks when the time is right. Nobility does not respond to slander. However, those who cast slander will drown in their own mud when the day comes.

I specifically request that our nation not give credence to such baseless statements, which present words that were never spoken by me as if they had come from my own mouth. I am a child of this noble nation. My nation knows me; it knows my essence, my path, and my stance. There are those trying to lynch me today.

They are shouting, they are attacking... Because as I remain silent, lies speak. But let it not be forgotten that patience is also a test. I will speak when the time comes. When that day arrives, the voice of truth will silence the scream of slander.

And the sun of truth will rise again in these lands. All statements regarding the matter will be announced to the public through the press after the necessary testimonies have been given.

Have some decency..."
