'Dishonorable' tension in Parliament

AKP's Galip Ensarioğlu reacted to the words of DEM Party's Meral Danış Beştaş by saying, 'If you don't prove it, you are dishonorable.' Beştaş replied to Ensarioğlu, saying, 'You are the dishonorable one, you are ill-mannered!' As the tension continued, the session was adjourned.

Speaking from the podium, Beştaş said, “Galip Ensarioğlu expressed a discussion that took place in the press without mentioning my name. Yes, I had stated that the governor appointed as a trustee in Diyarbakır had committed corruption and theft, and I had mentioned Galip Bey's interest in these matters as a member of parliament.

Because he had an attack directed at me. But instead of clarifying the incident, he used a term that I will never utter, one that does not befit a Kurd, a man, or a human being, so I said, 'I will not stoop to your level.' I am closing this here.

AKP's Ensarioğlu reacted to Beştaş, who was speaking at the podium, by shouting from his seat. Beştaş responded to Ensarioğlu, saying, “Look, you are saying 'dishonorable' again, you are saying it again.” Upon this, Ensarioğlu addressed the allegations made by DEM Party's Beştaş and said, “If you don't prove it, you are dishonorable!” Angered by Ensarioğlu's words, Beştaş said, “You are the dishonorable one, you are ill-mannered!”

As deputies from both parties joined the tension between Beştaş and Ensarioğlu, the atmosphere in Parliament escalated. During those moments when the shouting echoed in the General Assembly, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Celal Adan adjourned the session for 10 minutes.
