DİSK calls for march to Saraçhane: 'Tyrants won't stay, they will go'

Reactions continue following the operation targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB). In a dawn raid conducted on the morning of March 19, İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and 87 people were taken into custody by hundreds of police officers.

While the detention of İmamoğlu has been met with backlash from broad segments of the public, citizens across the country have taken to the streets to organize protests.

The Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey (DİSK) has called for a march to Saraçhane against the detention decision under the slogan "Tyrants won't stay, they will go." In a statement issued by DİSK, it was stated, "When we stand shoulder to shoulder for justice, democracy, and our country, tyrants won't stay, they will go."
