DİSK, KESK, TTB, and TMMOB announce May Day decision: 'The May Day square is Taksim Square'

DİSK, KESK, TMMOB, and TTB have shared their 2026 May Day program with the public. DİSK President Arzu Çerkezoğlu stated that applications have been made in all provinces, while noting that there have been no developments yet regarding the application for Taksim in Istanbul.

Noting that they have begun their preparations for May Day 2026 as all components organizing May Day together with the 4 institutions, Çerkezoğlu emphasized that they have made the necessary applications in all provinces.

'WE HAVE MADE THE NECESSARY APPLICATIONS'

Stating that "The May Day square in Istanbul is Taksim Square," Çerkezoğlu noted that as DİSK, they applied to the Istanbul Governorship on March 25 to celebrate May Day in Taksim Square. Çerkezoğlu reported that they have also made the necessary applications for other provinces.

Çerkezoğlu also mentioned where the May Day celebrations will be held in other provinces as part of the program:

Ankara: Tandoğan Square

İzmir: Gündoğdu Square

Antalya: Cumhuriyet Square

Mersin: Cumhuriyet Square

Adana: Uğur Mumcu Square

Samsun: Cumhuriyet Square

Kayseri: Mimar Sinan Park

Eskişehir: Cumhuriyet Square
