Two police chiefs from Süleyman Soylu's team dismissed: They had accepted bribes

Alp Arslan and Oben Özay, who served as deputies to Servet Yılmaz during his tenure as Ankara Police Chief, have been dismissed from the police force. Both individuals were also named in the Ayhan Bora Kaplan organized crime case.

According to Tolga Şardan from T24, Alp Arslan was the Deputy Ankara Police Chief responsible for the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch during the Servet Yılmaz era.

Arslan's name also came to the fore during the escape of Adil Öksüz, who was alleged to be the FETÖ imam of the Turkish Armed Forces during the July 15 process.

Arslan, who was acquitted in the case he was tried in light of the information he possessed due to his duty in the Intelligence Branch at that time, is known to be one of the nationalist police chiefs within the Ankara Police Department.

MANAGED MAFIA OPERATIONS

Arslan later managed mafia operations that were described as "major operations" in the recent past but now carry question marks, both during his time as the head of the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch and as the responsible deputy chief.

The other police chief, Oben Özay, served as the Ankara Police Public Order Branch Manager. Özay also served within the Prime Ministry Protection Directorate for a period before returning to the Ankara Police Department.

ÖZAY'S NAME MENTIONED IN THE SİNAN ATEŞ MURDER

Özay's name was heard in the assassination of former Idealist Hearths (Ülkü Ocakları) President Sinan Ateş in Ankara. As the Public Order Branch Manager, Özay was the top official in the unit conducting the assassination investigation.

He was recently implicated in allegations that a report stating that Tolgahan Demirbaş, a key figure in the Ateş assassination and an MHP member, was detained while in the company of Olcay Kılavuz, who was an MHP MP at the time of the murder, was destroyed and replaced with a new, fake report. It is also stated that he was one of the figures behind Mustafa Ensar Aykan, who was implicated in the incident of delivering Ateş's last location information to the perpetrators before he was killed.

Like Arslan, Özay is known as one of the nationalist police officers in the Ankara Police Department.

THEY WERE ACCUSED OF TAKING BRIBES

Furthermore, a lawsuit was filed against former Deputy Ankara Police Chief Alp Arslan, who was responsible for the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch, for bribery on the allegation that he had Ayhan Bora Kaplan buy a Rolex watch as a birthday gift for his girlfriend. While Kaplan was also accused of giving bribes, it was determined that large amounts of money were deposited into the bank accounts of former Ankara Public Order Branch Manager Oben Özay, Chief Superintendent Ercan Karagöz, and police officer Serdar Coşkun in a manner "inconsistent with their financial profiles."

At the same time, a person named Yusuf Aydın, a tradesman in Ankara, alleged in the Ayhan Bora Kaplan investigation that Ayhan Bora Kaplan and his men intervened to cash a check worth 14.2 million liras he had received in a trade, and claimed that he was forced to leave Ankara under the pressure of former Ankara Police Chief Servet Yılmaz and his deputy Alp Arslan.

Yusuf Aydın stated, "A police officer said, 'This is upon the instruction of our Police Chief Servet Yılmaz and the request of Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu. You will leave Ankara.' The police even came to my house and accompanied me as I left Ankara."

CONTRACTOR'S CAR WAS SHOT AT

The car of Aziz Savaş, a contractor from Şanlıurfa who filed a complaint for assault and bribery against 4 police officers, including Ayhan Bora Kaplan, who was arrested for leading an organized crime group, former Ankara Police Chief Servet Yılmaz, and suspended former Ankara Public Order Branch Manager Oben Özay, was shot at.

Aziz Savaş stated that after being detained several times, Oben Özay told him, "Give me 30 thousand dollars, and I won't have you picked up again," and that he paid him a 30 thousand dollar bribe, further alleging that Kaplan also demanded 50 thousand dollars from him.
