Dismissals following the disaster
Following the mining disaster in İliç, Erzincan, one deputy general manager of the Turkish Coal Enterprises, one deputy general manager of the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration, and three deputy general managers of the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs have been dismissed from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
Following the landslide at the Çöpler Gold Mine in the İliç district of Erzincan, operated by Anagold Mining, notable dismissals have taken place at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
According to the decisions published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, 5 deputy general managers at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources have been dismissed.
According to the decision, the individuals dismissed from their posts are Ayhan Kandemir, Deputy General Manager of the Turkish Coal Enterprises; Abdulkerim Aydındağ, Deputy General Manager of the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration; and Kazım Özgür, Bayram Arı, and Sami Sarıyıldız, who were Deputy General Managers of the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs.
