Divisions continue in Menzil: Claims of a new campus in Bursa

While management and inheritance disputes between brothers continue within the Menzil sect, a new claim regarding the Orhangazi district of Bursa has come to the fore. The Eğitim-İş Bursa Branch alleged that the sect has established a new complex or campus on an area of approximately 180 dönüms in the district.

In the union's statement, it was noted that a portion of the land in question consists of olive groves, and it was stated that construction machinery is operating in the area and that a groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for October 22.

The claim coincides with a period when tensions between Saki Elhüseyni and his brothers in the Menzil sect are escalating. In a previous statement, Saki Elhüseyni had asserted that the administrative authority of the sect rested with him, stating that for his brothers to become partners in the management, they would need to secure the support of the majority of the six major families who founded the village.

Developments regarding the sect's financial structure have also drawn attention during this process. It was reported that the capital of Dehlevi Petrol A.Ş. was increased from 6 million TL to 147 million TL on August 21, and that the total capital of the sect companies under the control of Saki Elhüseyni had reached 212 million TL.

REACTION FROM EĞİTİM-İŞ

Eğitim-İş Bursa Branch President Özkan Röna reacted to the campus claim in Orhangazi with an emphasis on secular and public education.

Speaking to Cumhuriyet, Röna stated that they do not accept the opening of new spaces for sects and religious communities while the basic needs in public schools and the housing and nutrition problems of students remain unresolved.

Röna argued that public education is being weakened, dormitories are being left insufficient, and students are being deprived of scholarship and housing opportunities, adding that foundations, sects, and religious communities are filling these gaps.

Emphasizing in his statement that Bursa is a "city of the Republic, not of sects," Röna expressed that they will not surrender the future of children, the education system, and public life to sects.
