The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has issued a statement regarding allegations concerning funds, the stock market, and interest, which have recently come to the agenda due to developments in capital markets. The foundation stated that it does not have any money in the funds for which liquidation decisions have been made.
The TDV rejected claims that unfair profits were made through investment funds, that investments were made in the stock market, and that interest-bearing financial transactions were conducted. The statement noted that the foundation has no financial resources in the mentioned portfolio management companies or the related liquidated funds.
The foundation's statement, made on October 9, was also discussed on the program "İddiaların Aksine" (Contrary to the Allegations), which airs on TRT 1. In the program, discussions arising from news reports and social media posts regarding the TDV's financial activities were evaluated.
The TDV emphasized that cash assets not intended for short-term use must be evaluated within the framework of relevant legislation. The foundation stated that these resources are managed in accordance with interest-free finance principles.
Information regarding the TDV's areas of activity was also shared during the program. It was reported that the foundation, which was established on March 13, 1975, has 1,003 branches outside of its headquarters and carries out education, culture, and charitable work in 149 countries.
It was stated that the TDV has opened over 100 mosques and education centers in 25 countries to date, and has brought 4,015 mosques, 2,866 Quran courses, and 8 education centers into service in Turkey.
