Diyanet President Erbaş reacts to Leman magazine for publishing a caricature of Prophet Muhammad
Diyanet President Ali Erbaş stated, "I strongly condemn and denounce Leman Magazine, which has committed a hate crime by showing disrespect through a caricature toward our Prophet Muhammad, who was sent as a mercy to the worlds, and Prophet Moses."
In a post on his social media account, Erbaş reacted to the magazine that published the caricature and noted the following:
"I strongly condemn and denounce Leman Magazine, which has committed a hate crime by showing disrespect through a caricature toward our Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him) and Prophet Moses (peace be upon him), who were sent as a mercy to the worlds.
This base act of disrespect must be accounted for within the framework of the law as soon as possible, and those responsible must be given the punishment they deserve.
This attitude of the so-called caricature magazine, which has also featured drawings in its past publications that offend Muslims and mock our sacred values, cannot be justified in any way by freedom of the press and expression."
