DMM denies '4-day work week' claims

In a post shared on the DMM's social media account, it was stated, "The claim appearing in some media outlets and social media platforms that 'a 4-day work week will be implemented under the Medium-Term Program' does not reflect the truth.

As confirmed by the relevant Ministries, a specific practice such as a four-day work week is not on the agenda. There is no provision in the Medium-Term Program regarding the reduction of working days to 4.

According to the Civil Servants Law No. 657, the weekly working hours for civil servants are 40 hours, and the rest days are Saturday and Sunday. According to the Labor Law, the maximum weekly working time is 45 hours, and it is possible to divide this time into 5 or 6 days depending on the nature of the work.

The phrase in the MTP, 'Pilot applications will be conducted for the adjustment of working days in line with increasing work-life balance and employee productivity,' refers to pilot projects to be carried out within the framework of transforming labor markets and technological developments.

It is kindly requested that the public rely on official statements and disregard posts containing misleading information and assessments," the statement read.
