The Presidency's Directorate of Communications Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has denied the claim, which appeared in some international media outlets and on social media accounts, that "the Turkish Armed Forces are preventing the residents of some villages in Ras al-Ayn, Syria, from returning to their homes."
In a statement made on the DMM's social media account, it was stated that the claim in question is not true. The statement noted that the situation of families wishing to return to the region is being monitored in coordination with the relevant institutions in Syria as part of the SDF integration process.
The Center emphasized that there is no practice in place where the Turkish Armed Forces are preventing these returns.
It is kindly requested that no credence be given to purposeful and baseless publications that attempt to target Turkey by distorting the process, and that information regarding the subject be followed only through statements from official authorities.
In the DMM statement, it was noted that developments regarding the issue should be followed through announcements from official authorities.
