DMM: 'Request for protection from MI6' is not true

In a statement made on the DMM's social media account, it was said, "The news published today in a foreign news agency claiming that 'Turkey asked British MI6 to increase the protection of Syrian President Shara' does not reflect the truth.

The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) is in effective cooperation with both the international intelligence community and the security units of our neighbor Syria in the field of counter-terrorism.

The successful operations recently carried out against the DAESH terrorist organization together with the Syrian authorities are among the most current examples of this cooperation.

It is not true, as claimed in the news in question, that the MIT has made any request to MI6 regarding the protection of the Syrian President or asked it to undertake such a role. The public is kindly requested not to give credence to baseless claims, posts, and content."
