DMM statement on claims of intense Turkish F-16 flights
The Presidential Communications Directorate's Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has stated that the claim that "Turkish F-16 fighter jets are conducting intense flights in Antalya" is not true.
In a statement made on the DMM's social media account, it was noted that the claim in question, which appeared in some social media posts, does not reflect the truth.
The statement, which indicated that the flights in question are test activities planned within the scope of the HÜRJET project carried out by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), included the following:
"During these test flights, which take off from the Antalya Air Base Command and are conducted over the sea, loud, explosion-like sounds may be heard as the aircraft occasionally reach supersonic speeds.
There is no unusual military activity as claimed.
We kindly request our citizens to be sensitive and careful against posts aimed at spreading panic and fear in society, and to follow only the statements made by official authorities."
