DMM statement regarding claims about 'Martyr Air Pilot Major Bolat's funeral ceremony'
The Presidency's Directorate of Communications Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has denied the claim that "permission was denied for the funeral ceremony of Martyr Air Pilot Major İbrahim Bolat to be held at a cemevi, and that it was held at a mosque instead."
In a statement made from the DMM's social media account, the following expressions were included:
"The claims circulating on some social media accounts that 'permission was denied for the funeral ceremony of Martyr Air Pilot Major İbrahim Bolat to be held at a cemevi, and that it was held at a mosque instead' are not true.
The funeral ceremonies of our martyrs are carried out in accordance with the requests of their valued families. There was no request from our martyr pilot's family for the funeral ceremony to be held at a cemevi.
Furthermore, ceremonies have previously been held in cemevis for our martyrs upon the requests of their families.
The baseless content circulated regarding this matter is intentional disinformation aimed at misleading the public and harming our unity and solidarity.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against these accounts that are engaging in provocation and spreading misleading information to the public."
