DNA test results announced! First statement from Münevver Karabulut's father

The Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that the samples taken from the exhumed grave of Cem Garipoğlu—who murdered Münevver Karabulut 15 years ago in Istanbul and later died by suicide in prison in 2014—matched those of his mother and father, and that it was determined the individual possessed the exact same DNA profile as the person who was identified as having died by suicide following an autopsy in 2014.

While the development has caused a widespread reaction in the public, the first statement came from Münevver Karabulut's father, Süreyya Karabulut.

"I REQUESTED THAT THE REPORT BE CHALLENGED"

Karabulut said, "Since the content of the Forensic Medicine report has not yet been entered into the file, we have not been able to examine the report's content. My lawyer, Mr. Rezan, informed me about the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's statement and the result of the report. I requested that he challenge the report before the Forensic Medicine institution and demand a new report from universities and forensic medicine institutes.

At the same time, I asked him to request a bone age determination from the bones alleged to belong to this murderer. We also made a request regarding DNA and fingerprint analysis on the bag found inside the grave.
