Do the AKP and Erdoğan have different views on the lieutenants? 'The girls reflect Anatolia...'
During the AKP Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) meeting, where the decision was made to hold the congress in May, the military academy graduation ceremonies were also brought up. It is claimed that Erdoğan commented, 'The girls reflect Anatolia,' regarding the event that drew reactions from many AKP figures.
The AKP Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) meeting was held the day before yesterday, chaired by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During the meeting, which lasted approximately 2.5 hours, the decision was made to hold the 8th Ordinary Congress in May.
ERDOĞAN: “THE GIRLS REFLECT ANATOLIA”
According to the report by Şifa Kaymak from Haber Global; the fact that three female students graduated at the top of their classes from the Military Academy, Air Force Academy, and Naval Academy—a first in the history of the Turkish Armed Forces—was also brought up during the meeting.
President Erdoğan, emphasizing this success, said, "Three girls came in first; this is happening for the first time. It is also a good answer to those who say women were confined to the home during the AK Party era. These girls reflect Anatolia. In fact, one of them is named İkra, which carries a special meaning as well."
While the name İkra means "read" in Arabic, it is also known as the name of the first revelation sent to Prophet Muhammad in the Islamic religion.
