Documentary released on Gendarmerie officer Mümin Aksoy, who played a major role in the Great Offensive: 'Those who gave up their future for the sake of independence...'

A documentary has been produced on Mümin Aksoy, a Gendarmerie officer who reported directly to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and played a major role in the Great Offensive and the liberation of İzmir through the intelligence he provided regarding the Greek army before the Great Offensive.

The premiere, held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the İzmir Bornova Culture and Art Center-Necdet Aydın Opera Hall, was attended by many figures, including Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya.

Produced and directed by Mesut Gengeç, with a screenplay by Bülent Günal and Beşir Ariz, the documentary's music was composed by Yıldıray Gürgen. Narrated by artist Mert Fırat, the documentary was edited by Yılmaz Aydın, with cinematography by Emrah Durmuş, Gazi Yılmaz, and İsmet Aynı.

Filmed in Istanbul, İzmir, and Bodrum, the documentary was prepared with the contributions of prominent historians such as Prof. Dr. Kemal Arı, Historian-Author Prof. Dr. Vahdettin Ergin, Prof. Dr. Engin Berber, Dr. Faculty Member Ahmet Mehmet Efendioğlu, and Researcher-Author Yaşar Aksoy, with great care taken to reflect the conditions of the period as accurately as possible.
