Documented challenge from CHP's Yavuzyılmaz: I am asking those who say İzmir's highways will not be privatized

Deniz Yavuzyılmaz brought a striking claim regarding the highways in İzmir to the agenda.

Yavuzyılmaz alleged that a "privatization clause" is included in the tender processes for the highways.

Sharing on his social media account, Yavuzyılmaz claimed that a "privatization clause" exists in the tender processes for certain highways under the jurisdiction of the 2nd Regional Directorate of Highways.

Yavuzyılmaz used the following expressions:

Here is the AKP's privatization schedule for the highways in İzmir

Under the 2nd Regional Directorate of Highways, which the AKP plans to privatize for 25 years;

İzmir-Aydın Highway

İzmir-Çeşme Highway

Including the İzmir Ring Road;

we have determined with documentation that starting from 2026, construction tenders covering these three highways;

have had a 'privatization clause' added to them.

However;

there was no privatization clause in the tenders prior to 2026.

As can be clearly seen regarding these highways in İzmir, which have entered the privatization package;

I ask those who say they will not be privatized!

If there is to be no privatization, then what is this privatization clause doing in this tender contract?

Furthermore, the construction period for the works subject to this tender, which is set for 2026, has been limited to 240 days (8 months).

It is understood from this that:

The highways in the 2nd Regional Directorate of Highways are planned to be privatized within 8 months, that is, by the end of 2026.

Because 2027 is an election year!

The AKP is looking to collect a lump sum of money in advance before the general elections by selling off assets belonging to the nation at fire-sale prices!
