Domestic and national AESA Radar that detects all kinds of threats up to 7 kilometers: We are in competition

ÖNDER SAVUNMA, which stands out in the Turkish defense industry with its innovative and national solutions, took its place at the IDEF 2025 International Defense Industry Fair held in Istanbul between July 22-27, 2025. The company is drawing attention at the fair with its domestic and national products. Visitors to the fair are also watching the test phase footage of the products on a 3D screen with interest. The company has a very wide product family, such as fire control systems developed for land, air, and sea platforms, radar systems, PSIM and I-BEX video management software, and traffic and transportation security systems.

The company develops its 12.7 mm Remote Controlled Weapon System, 25 mm Remote Controlled Weapon System, 105 mm Howitzer Fire Control System, 155 mm Howitzer Fire Control System, Advanced Integrated Fire Control System (OMNIS), 76/62 mm Naval Gun, Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Targeting System (GIMBAL), Integration of Radar and Electro-optical Systems for Close Air Defense Weapon Systems, Hydraulic Autofrettage Bench, Urban Security Management System (KGYS), IBEX-VMS, Border Security Systems, Critical Infrastructure and Facility Security Systems, Forest Fire Detection and Security Platform (OYAP), Backpack Jammer, Vehicle-Mounted Jammer, Leopard 2A4 Tank Fire Control Computer, Leopard 2A4 Tank EMES 15 Electronic Unit, ORBITA Radar, and Burner Cup Production Line as domestic and national products.

Önder Savunma Chairman of the Board Günay Önder stated that they continue to develop the Close Air Defense System Integrated with AESA Radar, and emphasized that the radar system can detect all kinds of attacks and threats that may come from up to 7 kilometers away.

For 15 years, we have been serving our state and our country in the field of Defense Industry on critical projects that concern our country and our national security. In the Defense Industry, we have an AESA radar product on both the electronics side and the software side. Due to the problems in the Middle East, drone attacks have started to come to the fore. Especially missile attacks. Attack methods have changed. Methods of warfare have changed. One of the measures that countries should take regarding this is our dome system, which is called the Iron Dome in Israel and which we call Turkey's Steel Dome. These are the studies carried out regarding the early detection of dangers that may come to our country and the destruction of incoming attacks. We have completed our work on this subject as a company. God willing, we are starting its tests. We have an AESA Radar product that we will bring to our country. This product can detect all kinds of attacks and threats that may come from 1.8 kilometers up to 7 kilometers now.”

Mentioning that they develop domestic and national products for the Turkish Armed Forces and abroad, Önder said, “We finished the fire control systems for the FIRTINA Howitzer 155 millimeter and the BORAN Howitzer 105 millimeter, and they were included in the inventory. Currently, our developments continue for both foreign sales and TSK needs. These are products that we have moved to mass production. The BORAN howitzer is currently in our inventory, and the 155mm one will enter our inventory next month. We have a 125-millimeter turret system. It is in our inventory. We have 12.7-millimeter turret systems; these are entirely our company's design and product, and they are projects we developed jointly with Makine Kimya A.Ş. Our turret systems are fire systems and weapon systems integrated onto our armored vehicles. The weapon systems are produced entirely by our Makine Kimya institution. We produce the subsystems, software, and fire control systems. These are both for our Armed Forces and also our exports to many countries abroad.”

"WE ARE THE FIRM THAT CREATED THE URBAN SECURITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM"

Stating that they also created the Urban Security Management System, Önder said, “The Romanian Ministry of Defense was here yesterday. Their deputy ministers and people from the General Staff came. We have contracts signed with them. At the same time, we are the firm that created the Urban Security Management System. Throughout Turkey. The Urban Security Management System software used in 81 provinces and 950 districts is our own software. There are demands from NATO countries, Romania, and the United Arab Emirates regarding this software. We have signed our contracts regarding them. They will also come to life soon.”

Saying that a bad neighbor makes one a homeowner, Önder said, “A bad landlord makes the tenant a homeowner. Unfortunately, we have experienced serious difficulties and embargoes in the products we have imported from abroad until today. Due to these embargoes, we had to develop many products ourselves. We are currently in competition; we have reached the power to compete with all of them, including our Ministry of National Defense's valuable institutions and the valuable institutions of the Defense Industry, as well as ourselves. Baykar has done very beautiful projects. We watch Bayraktar TB3 and KIZILELMA with pride. We are making every effort we can to take our place alongside them.”
