Domestic films top the box office in 2023

Directed by İsmail Fidan, 'Rafadan Tayfa Galaktik Tayfa' became the most-watched film, while 'Oppenheimer', 'Atatürk 1881-1919', and 'Fast X' were among the other domestic productions. Additionally, international productions such as 'Avatar: The Way of Water', 'Kutsal Damacana 4', and 'John Wick: Chapter 4' also appeared on the list.

According to Box Office Türkiye data, 4 of the 10 most-watched films throughout the year were domestic productions. "Rafadan Tayfa Galaktik Tayfa," directed by İsmail Fidan, was the most-watched film, with 2 million 853 thousand 70 viewers. Other domestic productions include "Oppenheimer," "Atatürk 1881-1919," and "Fast X."

A total of 491 films were released during the year, and the total number of viewers was recorded as 31 million 280 thousand 896. The film "Rafadan Tayfa Galaktik Tayfa" grossed 170 million 239 thousand liras, becoming the most-watched and highest-grossing film of the year.

Among other domestic productions, "Oppenheimer" and "Atatürk 1881-1919" also achieved notable success in terms of viewer numbers and revenue. The strong performance of Turkish cinema throughout the year once again demonstrated the popularity of domestic productions.
